My
friend and Rebounder, Jackie Edwards, won a silent auction to
sit on the Mystics bench during pre-game warm-ups for the Mystics
v Phoenix game. She invited me to join her as her guest. :)
I was proud to see that Lang was on the floor early to practice
some short jumpers and stretch. The only other player out there
at that time was Laurie Koehn. As the other players came out,
we were able to exchange greetings with several of the players,
including those that used to be Dukies.
As part of ‘the deal’, we could have our picture taken
with our favorite player. We, of course, chose Crystal. She was
just as sweet as ever, and told us we ‘did not have to pick
her, because she would always be there for us’. What a great
gal!!
She then told us a cute story. She said that Mo Currie and Alana
Beard put a Duke license plate on her car. She drove around for
about a month before she noticed it and removed it. She didn’t
know what she was going to do yet, but she vowed to get even.
Yes, she will definitely do something.
